BSG Has the Honor to Visit the Supreme Court

supreme-court-3

This week several BSG attorneys had the pleasure of visiting the Supreme Court of the United States. The morning began with a sit down with Justice Brett Kavanaugh, in chambers, where he provided a brief overview of the cases that would come before the High Court. The oral arguments were a fascinating deep dive into the free speech protections of the first amendment. In the first case, the Court will consider to what extent the government can influence private speech on social media; and in the second, SCOTUS will explore whether a state agency’s regulations on a third-party that ultimately burden the speech of an advocacy group, violates the First Amendment. Watching the nine Justices and the law at work was truly inspiring. Thanks to Denise Gottron for arranging this special day!
